A SIGNIFICANT MASTERPLAN PRESENTATION FOR THE EMIR OF QATAR.
A significant competition submission for a major masterplan development on the coast of Qatar. The project consisted of two hard back books, created as a set for the submission, 32 A0 display boards and an eleven metre long 3D model. These were displayed as an exhibition for the Emir of Qatar in a secret location in Doha, for the competition shortlist.
The project was branded with a logo inspired by the desert sun of Qatar and the blue of the Persian Gulf to create a recognisable identity for the project. The two documents were case bound with bookcloth covers and digitally printed on a silk stock. The title and logo for the project are highlighted with embossing and metallic foils, creating an elegant and tactile casing for the publications. The boards were digitally printed and featured Arabic translations for each of the areas of the masterplan, based on handwritten Arabic calligraphy.
